Westmatic Highlights of Progress 2013
by Andrea SauersInnovating, Growing, and Looking Ahead
With 2013 coming to an end, the team at Westmatic Corporation would like to thank all of its customers, suppliers, business partners, and employees who have helped contribute to its success in the past year.
Westmatic is a company with momentum; we have gained
considerable market share in the past five years and we will continue to penetrate
the North American large vehicle wash market in 2014 and the years ahead. From 2012 to 2013, Westmatic has experienced
about 18% growth in net sales. By
putting the customers' and the environment's needs first, Westmatic continues
to develop a diverse and innovative line of large vehicle wash systems that
provide brilliant wash results.
Looking back on the year 2013, Westmatic saw a great amount
of evolution and change which was necessary in order to adapt to the substantial
growth we are experiencing. We kicked
off the year with launching our newly re-designed website, www.westmatic.com. We were also the first company to complete
the Buffalo Niagara Partnership's Buy Local Challenge, an initiative which aims
to encourage local investment in the Buffalo Niagara region. An influential change that occurred includes
the creation of two separate teams and fleets for Installations and Service calls. As our customer base continues to grow, it is
no longer feasible to use one team for both areas of work. With two separate teams, we are now servicing
our customers faster and better than ever with specialized technicians and
resources.
Westmatic also made a big leap in 2013 with the design and
installation of a brand-new, industry-exclusive machine, the "Lightning"
Rollover, for the Toronto Transit Commission.
Westmatic's "Lightning" is a rail-mounted 3-Brush Rollover machine
which can wash a 40 foot bus in 70 seconds!
Furthermore, Westmatic Corporation received its first order
for a North American Train Wash System order.
The Twin Line train wash system will be installed in Toronto, Ontario
(Canada), in 2014, and we hope that it will be the first of many to be
installed in the growing North American market.
2014 celebrates 40 years of business for Westmatic! In 1974, Jan Sundell founded Westmatic in
Arvika, Sweden. Westmatic began to grow and develop in the European
marketplace, installing and servicing water recycling and heavy vehicle wash
systems. Westmatic outgrew its original headquarters and in 1990 a new modern
factory was built in Arvika, Sweden. This factory was expanded in 1996, 2002,
2006 and 2008. In 1999, Westmatic's first train wash system was delivered
and installed. Westmatic then traveled
to the United States in order to establish itself in the North American
marketplace. In 2005, Westmatic Corporation (USA) was founded, and in 2008, the
company established its North American headquarters in Buffalo, New York.
Today Westmatic services over 3,000 wash bays worldwide. As a manufacturer, we will continue to research and develop our large vehicle wash equipment in order to continue to be a world leader in cutting edge technology.
